What is Hyderabad Hype?

Hyderabad Hype is a community of artists and arts lovers based in Hyderabad, Pakistan. Our aim is to create platforms for aspiring local artists to perform, produce, network, and connect to new audiences. We believe in collaboration over competition and use teamwork and partnerships to achieve our goals. By providing high quality events and a welcoming atmosphere for people from all walks of life, we are changing the landscape and potential for our arts community. Since launching in 2021, our Open Mic events have regularly brought together esteemed members of our city to attend and celebrate our local unsung heroes. While we take pride in being the only community of its kind in our city, our vision is that our work establishes a new standard in how artists from Hyderabad and the surrounding regions are promoted.

Who is Hyderabad Hype?

Hyderabad Hype was started by Mashood Qureshi, a ‘wapistani’ rapper who has spent most of his life living in Melbourne, Australia. When he moved back to his hometown of Hyderabad, he was surprised to find a lack of community support and open spirit for the arts – which had been instrumental in establishing his early career as an artist overseas. Since our first event in December 2021, the team has grown to encompass local and nationally recognised artists, designers, and community leaders, as well as businesses interested in lending their support to this vital cause. We would be nothing without our artists, supporters, community, and partners. Thank you for being a part of this powerful journey.

Why Hyderabad Hype?

Our community is at a critical time in its history, and with the arrival of modern technologies and ideas from abroad, it’s important that there is a preservation and celebration of our local cultures, norms, and artists. Our by-artists, for-artists approach puts local talent first, and uses the power of collaboration and peer development to encourage each artist to achieve their full potential. Our events are open to all and create a warm and friendly atmosphere to allow aspiring artists and arts lovers alike to enjoy themselves discovering something new.
